Sustainable Vegetable Garden
Having gained the Bronze award last year, the Eco-Schools Council decided to seek a project which would help the school to gain the Silver award this year. Thus, the Sustainable Vegetable Garden Project was born and we are very grateful to Interact USA which granted us $1,000 to help with the work.
The weather has been very poor so far this year, but now that May is here, the Council members decided that they had to get the practical work started.
Mr. Halls led the first practical phase of the project when an intrepid group of parents, staff and pupils assembled at the school at 7pm on Friday 3 May to build the raised bed structures.
Top soil is being ordered, advice is being sought and we hope to begin planting during the week beginning 13 May 2013. Watch this space!!
